Dabbling into the non-Madden NFL titles today with an interesting attempt by Data East. This one was certainly not trying to be a simulation style game. Considering Data East's roots in the arcade scene its not out of pocket for this to feel more like an arcade football game. Once you get into that mindset its not a bad time. The power plays are extremely overpowered but also pretty hype. Using them strategically against a buddy would make for some tense moments I feel like. Presentation was solid, music during plays while repetitive was not unwelcomed, and easy to pick up and play controls. No licensing made for some interesting team choices so I hope you enjoy this classic showdown of the Dallas...money? And the New England...Christmas Ornaments? Totally unplanned but at 34:33 you can see the box score for Philadelphia vs Kansas City with a score of PHI 45 - KC 37.
