The Great Waldo Search (NES) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

A playthrough of THQ'S 1992 NES game, The Great Waldo Search. Played through on Expert mode. As you can tell from the video run-time, there isn't a whole lot to this game. It's funny how, in addressing one of the biggest issues of the original Where's Waldo game (it's graphics), a whole new problem arose: the graphics look great (they are are a surprisingly small step-down from the 16-bit versions!), everything is now huge, which makes finding Waldo a bit too ridiculously easy. Whatever they surround him with, it's not terribly difficult to pick out the only person wasting red-and-white stripes when the details are all so blow-up. Yeah, I know the resolution required trade-offs, but whereas Where's Waldo's characters were absolutely microscopic, these are all so visible that even Helen Keller wouldn't have a hard time here. It's an extremely nice-looking game, and they even used a tiny clip from the TV show's song looped for the title screen music, which impressed me mightily back then. It's really not much of a game though.
