Whoa whoa. What is this? This is Heimdall 2 -- a 1994 game by The 8th Day. It seems that no one on YouTube has done a playthrough for the MS-DOS version in English (there is one for the Amiga CD32 version). So here I am playing through this! A little bit about the game itself... You know about open world RPGs right? Like Skyrim, Fallout 3 those kind of games? This... is not one of them. Heimdall 2 is more of a "where-the-f***-do-I-go" kind of RPG. The control is an awkward combination of keyboard and mouse that clearly expects you to have one more hand than normal. It lacks all the hand-holding and tutorial which are industry standard today. But this is exactly why this kind of retro games is fun. I played this game some 15 years ago and I couldn't get past the hakrats in the initial areas then. Years gone and even the name of the game escaped me, but the graphics and control have left a lasting impression on me. Somehow I stumbled upon this again recently and said why not give it a shot? This time I'm playing this mostly blind. So shout at me if I missed anything important!
