Sid Meier's Pirates!: Live the Life is an action-adventure strategy video game developed by Firaxis Games and published by Atari Interactive and 2K Games, originally released in November 2004. Being a remake of MicroProse's 1987 original, it's set in 17th century Caribbean, during the golden age of piracy, where the player takes the role of a young pirate seeking to build his fortune and reputation in the high seas, and at the same time, find his family who were kidnapped by the evil Spanish nobleman Marquis Montalban. At the beginning of the game, the player chooses a character's background and starting point, and then sets sail on his journey. The player must manage a crew, upgrade his ship, and engage in battles with other pirates and naval vessels. The player must also navigate complex relationships with the different European powers vying for control of the Caribbean. Throughout the game, the player can undertake various missions, such as rescuing captured crew members or capturing enemy ships. The ultimate goal is to track down and defeat the infamous pirate named the "Ghost Ship," while also building up a reputation as a legendary pirate captain.
