The Ice Palace

This music grew out of an improvisation that took hold of me after reading the Ice Palace by Tarjei Vesaas. Its made up of the following parts: Part I Unn and Siss One single evening / The Ice Palace (part I) The Ice Palace (part II) Part II Unn vanishes / Vigil In deepest snow The Palace closes This rough recording was made at home in Manchester to the best of my ability, in winter 2021, with a telecaster, some pedals, an amp, a laptop and a bunch of mistakes. For Ruth, who took me into the wildernesses. And for my brother Dan, my first partner in adventure.
