Torneko: The Last Hope (Playstation) - Blind Playthrough (Part 1)

Game: World of Dragon Warrior: Torneko: The Last Hope Platform: Playstation Completed: January 3, 2022 Rules: Beat the game Part: 1 of 4 I wanted to try a new roguelike game similar to Azure Dreams and stumbled across this game. I was especially intrigued since it was in the Dragon Warrior series. You play as Torneko, the merchant protagonist from Dragon Quest 4 for the Famicom...but he was named Taloon in the North American version, Dragon Warrior 4 for the NES. But then why is this game called "World of Dragon Warrior" but his name is Torneko from Dragon Quest? Shouldn't it be "World of Dragon Quest: Torneko" or "World of Dragon Warrior: Taloon"? The good news is that it doesn't matter. Overall this game has a ton of polish and is awesome. I'm not always a fan of having to rely on pure randomness and luck but there's also a lot of skill and thought required and the game always kept me on my toes. The way that a lot of the songs use common themes is a fun touch as well. There's a bunch of extra content after the main game is beaten, but I wasn't ready to take that on yet. 2 hours, 31 minutes - This was a really close call but a fun use of the Bang scroll.
