⚠ TFE installation guide: 0.) Before you do anything, pls make sure, that your ALL (!) DF files are in the "Game" folder. (Like this: YourDrive:\...\Dark Forces\Game) 1.) Download the TFE. 2.) Extract it in to your installed DF folder. (Straight in to the DF's root!) 3.) Launch "TheForceEngine.exe" 4.) Go to "Settings" 5.) In the "Game Source Data" section, choose your path to "dark.exe" (To the original (!) DF's exec file.) 6.) Take any settings as you like in the main menu. (Sound, graphics, HUD, etc.) Launch & Enjoy! ⚠ SAVE / LOAD methods in TFE (You can save or load your progress anytime and anywhere in DF via TFE.) SAVEing ☛ If you are in a mission, just hit ESC, after that hit on "Configuration". TFE's ingame layer will appears with save / load options. LOADing ☛ There are two options here: 1.) If you are in a mission, same method as SAVEing. 2.) If you are not in a mission, just start any. (Whatever which one.) After it's loaded, same method as SAVEing. QUICKsave / QUICKload ☛ In theory, you can make quicksave / quickload. (ALT+F5 and ALT+F9 are the TFE's default binds.) ❎ About "XL Engine" There is another engine for DF. It's called: "XL Engine". It also works well, it contains almost the same options as the TFE. However XL can't adjust the game's music volume. (Or it just didn't work for me.) That's why i preferred TFE instead. Installation method is the almost the same as TFE. ✅If you are interested ☛
