Twin Kingdom Valley is a 1985 Text Adventure that features active NPCs that go about their lives as you play, this was quite unusual in its day, and makes the game feel alive. Also, the titular Valley of the game, and the mountains surrounding it have a real sense of scale to them due to the many locations, of which a fair portion are just "another part of the forest", or "further down the road"..
