It features five tracks and has a feature that allows the user to give their virtual cars custom paint jobs. Top Gear Rally features a realistic physics model with functioning suspension. Road surfaces, including their imperfections, were modeled to give the player the feeling of actually driving a car. The game has a single-player mode and a two-player mode via split-screen. Each vehicle in the game differs from the others in terms of engine power, tire grip, suspension stiffness, steering tightness, and drive-train (such as front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, and four-wheel drive). Vehicles can be damaged, although the damage does not affect performance.
