Uplink: Hacker Elite Speedrun [ 20:12

Update December '11: I do want to come back to this run because there are things I can improve. I'm moving into a new place next month and should have a computer desk to work with (haven't even had a mouse pad for a couple years) so we'll see then... Hay gaiz. This video was up on someone else's channel but it's disappeared sometime, so say hi to it here. I don't recommend watching on Youtube - Yt doesn't make 640x480 available, so the text is squashed. Get the proper version at
This was my first speedrun on SDA, performed just over two years ago. I've got some fairly hefty comments at
, so you might just find the answer to any question you might have there. Anyway, the game is Uplink (known as Uplink: Hacker Elite in the US), which is a computer hacking "simulator" (cough). Suffice to say the Internet is a horribly insecure place in this fictional world, and works by somewhat different logic, but don't let that get in the way of a quick run... The category is "Bad Ending No Awards", which is either a Low% or Any% run depending on how you see it. The aim in this category is to complete the bad guys' objective of breaking the Internet as soon as possible, which in this case is as soon as you get the Revelation v1 virus for the first time. Sure, Revelation's first version isn't actually capable of spreading, and it doesn't actually execute on its own (both of which make it kinda hard to take down the Internuts methinks), but like I say, we're not big on logic here...
