Developed and published by SNK in 1991 Being a big fan of games like Speedball 2 and Brutal Sports Football, Soccer Brawl really piqued my interest. The pictures of cybernetically enhanced players armed with photon blasters and prospect of spilling a little blood on the pitch were too much to resist. Sadly, it turned out to be far less exciting than I'd hoped. Yes, you can shoot other players with your "arm shot", but it only stuns them sufficiently long enough to make off with the ball. The rest is pretty much a standard game of soccer, which certainly looks and plays well enough, but the lack of severed heads and flying teeth meant this just ended up feeling rather boring. #neogeo #soccerbrawl #retrogaming
