Marijka the Unfaithful 1934 Czech Ukrainian Yiddish movie Eng subs гуцули

This is a most unusual and rare Czech film based on a story by Ivan Olbracht. Most of the actors are amateurs from the village of Kolochava, Carpatho-Ukraine including the main female lead. Petro is Andrew Kist who immigrated to the USA and became a dance instructor for Vasile Avramenko and later a Ukrainian priest in Minneapolis. All the characters speak their own language which include Ukrainian in the Carpatho-Ukrainian dialect, Czech and Yiddish. Interesting Carpatho-Ukraine village stereotypes in this film - early 1930s era. The sound dialogue appears to have been recorded in a studio.
