0We found another genuinely good Kemco game, some well written characters, nice music, a solid art style with some fantastic spritework, and a genuinely good story... what happened Kemco? Oh it's the machine knight team that's why. 00:00 Vasist Nikay 10:52 Opening 12:30 Juron 14:51 Changeforms x3 20:40 Mother Eater 23:49 The Brave 28:04 Ugle Dragon 29:30 Vasist Nikay 33:20 Assassins x2 36:20 Rafflesia (Optional) 42:06 Poison Slime 45:34 Gray Sage 52:38 Efreet 54:45 Taurus 59:17 Chief of Amm 1:00:09 Gray Sage Blademaster 1:13:33 Chronos 1:17:00 Gray Sage Chronos 1:21:46 H.B.L. Justice (True Final Boss) 2:55:07 True Ending Overall I actually really enjoyed this game though it does have 2 glaring issues. One the encounter rate is way too high, sure normal battles can be over in less than 10 seconds but when you're running into an enemy every 15 seconds it gets a bit annoying. The much bigger issue is the penalty of dying... or moreso the lack of one because in this game you can choose to respawn fully healed for half your gold, sounds like a fair requirement but if you die again it wants... half your gold. So that means even with 100 gold you could make like undertale and but it refused your way to victory. Then while not as big of an issue the final dungeon is stupid, not because it's hard but because if you want the true ending you're running through that place at least 3 times, 4 if you want to fight the superboss and get that cute cutscene with Kline and Alia at the end. And it doesn't even change after the second run through. Seriously you can get to the end of it in 5 minutes if you know the way but why not just warp us to the final stretch where the bass music start playing that would've been a lot better and it would save the player like 30 minutes, It didn't bother me too much because I can turn my brain off and just plow through a place without much trouble but a lot of people bitch and moan at mild inconveniences. I wanted to get those complaints out because otherwise I genuinely had a great time with this game and let's be honest if you get this on PC you could just lower the encounter rate by going into the games files, these games are not that complex so you won't break something easily. But overall this game is a really nice 7.5/10 and a well written 18-22 hour adventure. In fact I'll link the steam page for anyone interested because this game is kind of a hidden gem and deserves a bit more love. it's also on nintendo switch which is what I played it on thanks to it being portable but hey the steam deck exists nowadays so you could probably make that work as well.
