Song of the Far Eastern Army (Дальневосточная) - EPIC Orchestral Cover
Дальневосточная (literal translation, "The Far East", better translated as "Song of the Far Eastern Army") is a Soviet military and patriotic song commemorating the deeds of the Special Red Banner Far Eastern Army (Осо́бая Краснознамённая Дальневосто́чная а́рмия, or ОКДВА) under the command of legendary Soviet military leader Marshal Vasily Blyukher. Subscribe!: / @spiritrev Twitter: / spiritrev_ The OKDVA was responsible for Soviet aid to the Chinese during their conflict with the Empire of Japan in the 1920s and 1930s, and it is through Soviet intervention that the "Nanjing decade" of peace in China was established, by seizing control of northern railways held by pro-Japan warlords. As a renonwed commander, Blyukher had a high degree of autonomy from Moscow, which would eventually prove to be his undoing - he was arrested and shot on the orders of ascendant NKVD director Lavrentiy Beria in connection with the end of the Great Purge. Following his death, the OKDVA was disbanded and its units absorbed into the normal Red Army. Blyukher remains a popular figure in both the former USSR and China. In this epic orchestral cover of Дальневосточная, the deeds of the Special Red Banner army are shown at their proudest. The track was originally written in 1929 by B. Shikhov, with lyrics by A. Pomorsky. Although little known today, Дальневосточная is also associated with Marshal Alexander Vasilevsky, an important commander from the era of the Great Patriotic War. Featuring an impressive choir and orchestra, this track is sure to bring back memories of the Soviet Union. Listen and be transported back to a time when the Soviet Union was a burgeoning world power!
