This time, in one single segment. Just a casual 7 minute time shaving. Actually, not casual at all. This game is the opposite of casual. You might think this is just a 'shoot spheres fast' game, and, of course, it is to a point, but there is much more than meets the eye. There's two main techniques that make playing the game interesting, the combo mechanics, and quickkills. Quick-kills are where flames and lightning powerups are shot at the very beginning of the chain, to get rid of an entire chain's worth of spheres at once. It... is very powerful. Each chain removed is essentially 20 seconds saved off the run, give or take. This entire run is all about getting as many flames and lightnings as possible, and using that to remove chains like nothing else. The combo mechanics... are another beast entirely. For some unknown reason, most Luxor games (1/AR, 2, Evolved, HD) have a system where if you shoot into a match that would normally be a two combo, and clear a new match (on the same track) as those spheres are comboing... the second "combo" essentially acts as a third match, dropping a powerup. Why this is, I do not know. MumboJumbo does MumboJumbo things. That's pretty much my only goal most of the time, so reverses, stops, and slows are left behind unless I'm: A: Trying to avoid spawning a chain near level completion or B: I am in an extreme situation where I'll die otherwise There were a few... very close calls (8-1, 12-4), but overall, thankfully, the run is deathless, and sub 4:30, so I am happy. Luxor 1 run coming soon.
