Like in the previous Cake Mania games, throwing away a cake costs according to its price. The same cost applies when a cake left on the oven tray is burned up while a newly baked cake is being released from the oven. Leaving a cake at the end of the shift also counts as a loss. A customer leaves the store mad when he/she loses all hearts, costing you depending on the complexity of their cake order. You lose $20 for each cake layer and $10 for the topper in the missed cake order. Starting in this game in the Cake Mania series, getting a negative score due to losses is now possible. However, you can try again at a level unlimited times should the player fail to meet the month's "Baker Goal" in Story Mode. Failing a level will end the game in Endless Mode.
