Today the CTA announced the rollout of software designed to detect guns on the L and it's powered by artificial intelligence The technology uses artificial intelligence to spot guns So when a shooter walks up and they take out a weapon I system will pick that weapon up If it's confirmed 0 eyes notifies local law enforcement to immediately respond It's currently used at major transit agencies schools around the country and here in Chicago And a CTA spokesperson told me this technology is just complementing the security efforts they already have in place Now this does not use facial recognition and it's only being used right now on the CTA platforms not on the cars themselves
