Under the direction of Roxana Dykyj-Pylypczak, the group boasts a 33 year year history and is comprised of over 35 dancers dedicated to reshaping the the very definition of Ukrainian dance and delighting audiences everywhere. In 2011, Hromovytsia concluded its second tour of Ukraine with performances in in Kyiv, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and rivne. The ensemble completed a successful 17-day tour of western Europe in 2007, when it visited and performed for audiences in Paris, Strasbourg, munich, Florence, Venice and Rome. 2003 is when Hromovytsia performed for capacity crowds in six different ukrainian cities. other notable accomplishments include repeat performances at one of the largest dance festivals in the United States - Dance Chicago. This month-long dance spectacle consists of various programs and performances, showcasing more than 250 individual acts and 2,500 artists each year - bringing in annual dance audiences of over 20,000 dance enthusiasts. Hromovytsia has been a crowd favourite with Dance Chicago spectators as they've shared the stage with professionals such as The Joffrey Ballet, Gus Giordanio Jazz Dance and the Hubbard Street Dancers. Members of Hromovytsia boast a vast array of dance backgrounds which include guest and company performances for salt creek Ballet. Joel Hall Dancers and an appearanceon the FOXhit reality show "So You Think You Can Dance". Over the last several years Hromovytsia has performed at a number of festivals across Canada and the united Satates, including the officialgrandopening of Chicago's Millenium Park, Canada's National Ukrainian festival in Dauphin, Manitoba (2005) and the Bloor West Village Ukrainian festival in Toronto --- boasting a weekend attendance of over 250,000 people. Hromovytsia has become a staple and audience favourite at the McDonald's Thanksgiving Parade performing annually for more than 400,000 parade-goers and over 5 million televisin viewers. This parade is also nationally syndicated and available in over 75 million households. other note worthy performances include the Verkhovyna Ukrainian Festival in Glen Spey, NY, the Washington D.C. Ukrainian festival. Chicago's Sister Cities Festival (with Barrack Obama and Mayor Richard Daley), a live NBC 5's MorningShow with Dicj Johnson and special appearances at philanthropic events for the University of Chicago Cancer Research and the Fermi Lab Physics Laboratory.
