Adventure Mode | Cutscenes, All Side Missions, Commentary Part 1:    • BLOOD+ One Night Kiss (PS2) - Adventure Mo...   Part 2:    • BLOOD+ One Night Kiss (PS2) - Adventure Mo...   Part 1 has a general introduction for the game. In BLOOD+ One Night Kiss, Action Mode is the Normal difficulty. As a counterpoint to the semi-full Adventure (Easy) playthrough, this Action playthrough focuses on mandatory progress, skipping everything except for the minimum to beat the game. Functionally, this is meant to help anybody who wants to reach the end with no frills and may be stuck somewhere due to the language barrier. After beating the game once, every playthrough thereafter becomes a NG+ run with all previously-unlocked combat upgrades. I didn't want to play on a NG+, so this Action run was done on a fresh file, though I created a new save block and changed my configuration beforehand to prepare. That being said, I strongly recommend Adventure for a first playthrough, only touching higher difficulties if you truly feel invested in the game. There is lots of "hard mode filler" that may detract from your overall experience. For what it's worth, my first playthrough was on Action, but that was before I knew the full extent of what that meant. In addition to being a walkthrough, this video is mostly a speed run. I say "mostly" because I died at the final boss and spliced it out, but splicing out deaths was 100% my intention from the beginning. As such, this edited video is not the proper speed run archive. The real speed run archive, the unedited Twitch VOD, can be found below. The RTA time is 5:09:28, while the IGT is 4:57:13. Twitch VOD with commentary:    • BLOOD+ One Night Kiss (PS2) - Action Mode ...   As stated before, everything I do is mandatory; if I talk to someone specific or read a specific email, that means it must be done to beat the game. As such, I felt no need to fully breakdown every chapter, but here are some miscellanous notes: -Aoyama 3 - 9:30PM (48:30) was messy. The mandatory sequence is: talk to the man, interact with each of the four houses once, interact with the garbage disposal to get the ring, then talk to the man again to give him the ring. In a Saya side mission, you can interact with more houses, and my wires got crossed, so I fumbled around until I found my bearings and accidentally talked to the man again before obtaining the ring. -Rule of thumb: when in doubt, look at the map or read an email. -You can skip nearly every cutscene/conversation by pressing START. There are a handful of unskippable text boxes, like the classroom tutorials and combat upgrade prompts. -My component-to-HDMI converter dropped the signal in two generic enemy fights. -I took many safety saves and checked the map relatively often while filling out my notes. Don't mind these minor asides. As boss coups de grâce, Saya's Death Blows (as I call them) are rather esoteric, and I failed a few of them (though the game fortunately lets you retry them). They are some of the hardest parts of the game, and constantly trip me up. Here is a breakdown of each Death Blow. Note that the specific buttons/directions change every attempt, they may change partway through depending on the difficulty, and are generally harder on higher difficulties. Saya 0 - 9AM 1. (4:54) Alternate between the buttons shown on-screen. 2. (7:15) Press each button the amount of times specified. 3. (8:34) Find the spot on left analogue stick (or both) where it vibrates. Saya 1 - 4PM (17:35) Press buttons that appear on screen. Saya 2 - 6:30PM (31:09) Press buttons in order. Saya 3 - 8:30PM (47:00) Mash button when controller vibrates. Saya 4 - 10PM (1:09:30) Push all buttons on screen at same time. Saya 5 - 11PM (1:38:43) Use analogue stick to place button where it shakes most, then mash. Saya 6 - 12AM (2:10:40) Rotate left analogue stick in specified direction at a certain speed. May be slow at first, or faster on the swap. Saya 7 - 1AM (2:51:48) Rotate analogue stick in specified direction, then press button at same time when it shows up. Saya 8 - 2AM (3:39:17) Briefly press and hold buttons until one vibrates, keep holding. Saya 9 - 3AM (4:41:14) Memorize sequence of buttons, then press in order. Saya 10 - 5AM (4:47:47) Alternate between buttons shown. Saya 11 - 6AM (5:02:09) Press the buttons that flow in order. Once again, I strongly recommend Adventure Mode for a first playthrough. Regardless of difficulty, this run still works as a general walkthrough since the basic progression always remains the same. When all is said and done, I had fun in this playthrough, just with some turbulence along the way. Next up is Perfect Kiss (Hard) Mode. It certainly lives up to its name!
