Center of the Ivanovo aiyl district. The village has a railway station of the same name on the Bishkek - Balykchy line. In 2009, its population was 16,052 people. After the abolition of the region, the village of Ivanovka became part of the Chuy region. On December 23, 1968 Ivanovka received the status of an urban-type settlement. On April 19, 1977 Ivanovka became the center of the newly formed Issyk-Ata region. May 8, 1993 smt. Ivanovka was transformed into a village.
