Footage of the very first ego-shooter/fps produced in Germany. Developed and released by "Soft Entprises" in 1993/1994 Appears like the sound/video are out of sync ... sorry for that. This game uses a custom engine called "VR6" which seems to be a hybrid between the wolf3d and doom engines, having some unique features which got to mainstream engines only a very good bit later. Some of the features include: Slopes, audible footsteps, height differences, diagonal walls, textured floors/ceilings, an automap, digitized weapons, looking up and down (which was even before marathon [!], which is noted as the first FPS to feature this), SVGA support, support for Roland Synthesizers. From a technical view, it's decent, except for the low framerate. In the end it seems like quite an ambitious project, which failed pretty bad in the long run as it was released around the same time as Doom, getting barely any publicity and horrible resources (silly monsters, pixelated/repetitive textures, annoying sounds and seemingly boring/narrow maps).
