Legion: Legend of Excalibur Playthrough (No Commentary)
The camera is horrible. This a game or rather the cover of this game is one I remember renting but I can't recall if I ever beat it or even if it was any good. Playing it now, it's obviously not great but I thought it was cute. I guess this is a 100% playthrough as I find every item. I don't use the two spellcasters because the ear pain is significant when you combine their spell sounds with normal combat. The other two melee are redundant and get in the way. It has a nasty difficultly spike in mission 5 and maybe 6 depending on your approach but the rest of the game is very easy. Well, to me. Please note that this game has to be played using the software renderer and it doesn't look great. Didn't look great to begin with as this came out in 2002. I'm playing in the original intended aspect ratio because stretching it to 16:9 makes it look worse but I upscale because I have to for Youtube. Gameplay notes Mission 5: The adds spawn endlessly. There's probably better ways to fight the boss but the mission is highly tedious and I didn't want to play it again. Mission 6: Setting the AI to target the strongest enemy during the deception trial is how you can figure out which one is the real one. Of course, you can just mash attack on Gwen and eventually you'll get the real one but if you don't know how to lock on, you're going to have a bad time. (Hold X) If you pick up gold during the final trial, you take loads of damage. I actually didn't know Arthur himself had to be near the statues to trigger the scene but I needed Gwen there anyway to avoid potential gold spawns if/when I need to switch. Percival is just a healbot, if he's not busy wasting all of his stamina. Mission 7: This mission does not have a time limit even though the dialogue makes it seem like it does. Also, there's no music. Pretty serious thing to slip through play testing. The boss of this mission does a fireball attack when you're far away that sometimes just kills you outright. Mission 8: There's a visual glitch during the opening scene. You can grind very effectively in this level thanks to endlessly respawning enemies but I don't because it's not necessary. You go west for Grolic's Frost. Not east. Mission 10 has no music. Again. Mission 11: You do have to find the three templars first before you can trigger the secret. After you find them, you have to press L3 near the tree to open the way. The secret is of dubious value. On one hand, you get another meat shield for the boss but on the other, you have another NPC blocking your movement in a fight where you constantly need to move. Mission 12: it's very likely that crossing the bridge on the north side of the map will cause one or more party members to die, so I leave them behind. Honestly, they aren't helpful at this point and just get in the way. Mission 13 has no music. How? I show the secret involving the knights. 00:00 Intro 01:55 Mission 1 - Excalibur 14:23 Mission 2 - The Princess Gwenevere 33:53 Mission 3 - The Attack of The Bandits 49:21 Mission 4 - The Barbarian Raids 1:09:01 Mission 5 - The Battle at Avalon 1:32:15 Mission 6 - The Trials of the Ancient Kings 1:49:14 Mission 7 - The Siege of Camelot 2:06:15 Mission 8 - The Clan of Anguish 2:31:09 Mission 9 - The Assault on Red Castle 2:44:31 Mission 10 - The Grail Maidens 3:06:43 Mission 11 - The Grail 3:35:59 Mission 12 - The Downfall of Morgan le Fay 3:52:33 Mission 13 - The Last Battle 4:00:04 Ending
