Bubsy - Fractured Furry Tales (part 1 of 4)

This is the ridiculously bad Jaguar game. I've never cleared this, so that should be an experience. A really boring, hyper-difficult maze of a game, with all the worst aspects of Bubsy. It could use an objective pointer and some health. List of good / bad ideas below: Good ideas: +Passwords after every stage. Unique bosses, sure. Enemy variety seems better than usual. Level aesthetic is okay, and the enemies match it. Enemies still stay dead when you kill them, unless you continue/password. 9 lives cat joke isn't funny but it helps a lot to start with so many. Configurable controls... for the 3 buttons there are. Bad ideas: The maps are incredible labyrinths; dungeon crawlers would be jealous. As if the maps weren't maze-like enough, they added small switches all over, which open mandatory gates off-screen. No way to tell what switch did which gate, or where to look. Enemies swoop in off-screen like never before. Some enemies are designed for it, like hornets. The aggressive enemy design highlights that 1 health is still a bad idea for Bubsy. Momentum is all screwed up and feels terrible to try and get the right movement going, especially up hills. The bosses, while unique in appearance and attacks, are still poorly done. They feel bad whether you are winning or losing. Still requires an egregious amount of orbs to get a life back. Still have a time limit, which may very easily run out on you in this version. You are vulnerable to balloons! You are vulnerable to hot wax, which is almost impossible to see! It looks like a harmless neat touch of artwork, until it kills you! Likewise, you are vulnerable to little drips of chocolate. It's hard to describe just how heavily they use this dumb obstacle late-game.
