How they found the Faraway Tree Joe, Beth and Frannie move from the town to the country with their parents. When exploring, they discover a mysterious wood .. Note to parents - This chapter only really introduces the children and not the Faraway Tree or any characters, it's worth doing chapter 2 straight after as they then meet some elves and learn about the tree itself.
