VGMemory Groove #53 : Kaen Seibo ~The Virgin on Megiddo~ Sega Dreamcast (BGM - M27)

Salam, my loyal VGM listeners and welcome back to another VGM review of Kaen Seibo ~The Virgin on Megiddo~ , available on the Sega Dreamcast. First of all, the storyline for this game is interesting from my point of view as it connects through a Sci-fi setting with certain traditional beliefs into the environment of this visual novel. It is about the condition of traditional territories, being demolished by well-known companies to achieve the standard of living for the population of the Japanese civilization by allowing the advancement of modern technologies into the identities of the previous cultures, somewhere on the northeast of Japan. Quoted as the "intelligent city", it offers a different lifestyle as an urban area for future generations to reside as time goes by. However, a virus was confirmed to exist during this year [2013] by the inhabitants of the newly built Izanami City, described as "Spontaneous Human Combustion", which produces a fire substance inside the bodies of humans. Hence, it's up to Kento Rando, a high school student and a novice investigator to carry out a task of investigating this enigmatic case. The main focus of the inquiry will be at Seigai High School, by which Kento must communicate with the students around the school to keep track of his progress throughout his journey. In addition, you can walk around in a first-person perspective view of a 3D-like world. During conversations, there are other commands that may be accessed via a menu. There are also parts with a set of time limits for you to be aware of, so don't slack off and do your best. Enjoy! Straight to the point, this track offers a unique concept of oral tradition as it transmits different musical instruments for us to listen, encouraging everyone to conserve traditional values as they reflect back on our cultural beliefs by actions, speeches and others. Therefore, I will give this an 8 out of 10 for this review. Thanks for listening and to quote an optimistic girl from Persona 2, "Let's think positive!"
