Played by: Ironclaw Cruise for a Corpse was made by Delphine Software in 1991. Inspector Raoul Dusentier has been invited aboard a ship by a man named Niklos Karaboudjan.Shortly after arriving, Raoul is knocked out by an unknown person and when he wakes up, he discovers that Niklos has been killed. The characters on the ship all seem to have their own motives and suspicions. Set over ten and a half hours, Raoul starts his investigation to find out who killed Niklos. A quote from someone on the internet: "Cruise for a Corpse was originally made in French and was called Croisiere pour un Cadavre. Translations never work out that well, so it is not surprising that Cruise for a Corpse has a few vocabulary errors here and there. For example, at the beginning of the game the clock says 'tomorrow morning' to indicate one day has passed. While this is a correct combination of words, it doesnt take a genius to figure out that this won't do; but saying the game is bad just because of a few linguistic errors would be nitpicking (and I love to nitpick). " I first planned on showing every dialogue, but it became too tedious and boring (I personally wouldn't want to watch that video) so I stopped with it and only asked what was needed, and about them so we know who they are. The intro music is not long enough to fit the entire intro, so it loops. For some reason when looping it fades out and restarts too early. Was gonna fix in edit, but forgot. Oh well. 00:05:50 - I first played through this game many years ago as a kid using a walkthrough I found in a magazine. Then one more time as a longplay like 9 years ago. Neither times did I ever think about using the crowbar found later in the game to open the door. This time though when I noticed it, I first didn't think it would work, and the text that he needed a crowbar to open it was just there for... fluff. I read through various walkthroughs I could find and no one mentioned it could be used to open this door. Same with some video longplays I looked at. Weird. Anyway, I finally get to peek inside, but it causes me to die so added it in the "extras" video instead. Link to the video is at the bottom of this description. 00:06:52 - When entering this room, 3 random things can happen. The machine can be blowing smoke as the big cylinder-thingy is rotating. The cylinder is not moving and no smoke, but instead the tiny other thing is moving (which is what we first see when I enter the room). And the third thing is nothing is moving, but instead there's a mechanic sitting there smoking. I exited and re-entered the room to show two of them. Will be visiting this place more times later, but did it now anyway. 00:31:29 - When entering a new room, I first explore it and look at everything before recording, then when recording only show what I think could be interesting. In this room though I wanted the music to play a bit longer as I find it quite good, so just looked at random unimportant/boring stuff while letting the music play on for a bit. The part at 00:31:40 reminded me of the SpongeBob SquarePants theme music, but only the first 4 notes :) (01:28:02, we can pretend this is Mr. Krabs :P). 00:43:19 - In the Butler's cabin there's a Wardrobe that when trying to move, he says he can't because it's bolted to the wall, but at the top right next to the wardrobe there is a "Square corner plate", which is held in place by two large screws, when trying to "Take apart" he says he needs a screwdriver. The game has a screwdriver, which is spawned on the "can" outside to the left of the door after I've picked up the crowbar. But, after picking up the crowbar, his room will be locked. 00:59:18 - Here you can choose to NOT save her if you want to. What happens is shown in the "extras" video (link at the bottom of the description). 01:35:14 - I latch the door and show I can't exit it. But I can exit using the map instead. Did this to see if the door would be locked if I tried to re-enter not using the map (felt no need in recording that bit). The door wasn't locked when I tried to re-enter, which was obvious, or it would have been a bug, which IS what I was looking for :) 01:37:01 - The soap can be used here by "Throw"ing it into the room (more like gliding, IMO). This takes out the dude inside so I don't have to fight him. In the "extras" video I show what happens when you use it. When fighting him you only need to hold down right mouse button, no need to block (which is the left button). I defeated him several times just holding down RMB, win every time as he never punches you often enough for you to go to the leftmost side of the screen. The one reaching the end of their side loses. I show when I die in the "extras" video. 01:41:30 - And, finally, if you watch the "extras" video, you will see the different endings when picking the other (wrong) characters.
