Of the "Moto Roader" trilogy, I personally would say that Moto Roader II is the best; it improves on its core concept, adds a few cool quirks, improves the field of view and adds some neat graphical touches, maintains and improves the upgrade system (no more accidentally buying the same part, you can sell old parts to gain a little money for future purchases), does away with gasoline for armor, adds vehicle collision, and makes combat more practical (as you can grab orbs that damage, restore armor, provide a boost or restore option stock). Additionally, you have three types of vehicles now which differ in top speed, handling and armor. Cars are balanced with high speed while tanks have high armor and hover cars have low armor and poor handling but can avoid most obstacles (that are on land). This makes multiplayer especially fun as characters in the air can get rammed by cars coming off jump ramps or hit with a freeze beam and glide off screen. It was very uncommon to have a game where different vehicle types could inhabit the same race... I guess a more recognizable example would be "Diddy Kong Racing" where players could move by car, hovercraft or plane. Rubber-banding in the game has also been tweaked; when a player falls behind, an emergency craft brings them back into the race, but it quickly drains armor until you make it put you down. While it may seem obvious to have it let you down right away, you can use it strategically to avoid a certain treacherous part of terrain or carefully place yourself over an opponent to bump them out of the lead. The last game, Moto Roader MC, changes the formula too much (removing the vehicle customization, most of the options, and goes for a more Super Sprint approach) and doesn't use the added CD in a compelling way (the music is pretty good, but the game doesn't have much content outside a few mini-games)... there isn't even much incentive to race solo since you'll see the ending anyway as there is no game over since you can't be destroyed in the race.
