Metal Rage: Defender of the Earth is the best tank shooter of 1993! Except it was released in 1996... James hovers about aimlessly through the suburbs being chased by helicopters and eventually shot to pieces. It's developed by a French company but seems distinctly Japanese in tone. The finer points of the controls elude him, but fun was had despite this!
