Strategic Command - World War I Classic - Windows PC
Strategic Command - World War I (Classic Edition) is a grand tactical turn-based strategy game developed by Fury Software and published by Slitherine Ltd. in 2011 for Windows. In the game, players are given a selection of scenarios covering World War I (and a scenario for World War II), and can fight as either the Entente or the Central Powers, with the goal being to either drop 2 of your rivals morale down to 1% or force them to outright surrender, or to hold major cities (such as capitals) at the end of 1918. Players can control research and production, and command their forces on the battlefields of Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. There is also diplomacy and historical events that the player can manipulate, adding an extra layer of complexity that the very similar Strategic Command Series lacks. Honestly there isn't too much to say about this game. Not because it's bad, but because the complexity comes from fighting your enemy and matching wits with the A.I., which is fairly solid. There's not much in the way of sound, so keeping a solid soundtrack going in the background would be a good idea, but the graphics and interface are fairly good. Overall this is a solid game for those who like grand strategy, but want to focus largely on the combat. This game is part of a much larger series, and has received a remake, also called Strategic Command - World War I.
