Virtua Athlete 2K - Dreamcast - Intro, Character Creation, All Events Playthrough 7195 Score [4K]

Full gameplay longplay, playthrough walkthrough, guide and trueplay of a full tournament of all seven events coming 1st. Converted to arcades at a later date, the Dreamcast version was clearly a rushed tie in for the Sydney 2000 Summer Olympics. Seems to have been in part a follow up to SEGA Saturn early Athlete game Athlete King / DecAthlete developed by Hitmaker and Climax Entertainment. As the game is sadly inferior in just about every way to DecAthlete with the character creation mode being the only real plus over it. Even then the options are very limited and the generic looking characters have no charm or spirit compared to the characters from DecAthlete and Winter Heat. The game also only features seven events cutting three of them seen in DecAthlete. The events it does features includes 100 Meter Dash, Long Jump, Shot put, High Jump, 110 Meter Hurdles, Javelin Throw and 1500 Meter Race. All seems to use the gameplay mechanics from DecAthlete, which largely borrowed from Konami's Track & Field. One unwelcome change is the stamina bar added to the sprint races, which just doesn't work and hinders players racing the CPU.
