Was only going for a no-miss but accidentally no-bombed too. Dodonpachi Saidaioujou came out in arcades in 2012 and was the final game in the Donpachi series made by Cave. Hibachi is one of two True Last Bosses in this game, in order to trigger her at the end of the game you need to: Beat the game with 1 death or less. Get at least 3 Bee Perfect Stages. The Hibachi fight in this game is modeled after all the past Hibachi fights. Every attack is based on a Hibachi attack from a different game in the series. Shmups wiki page for SDOJ: The Hibachi fight is a lot easier with Expert type, since you get a smaller player hitbox on Expert. Hibachi herself doesn't change at all on Expert. Doing this NMNB requires not shooting the boss for most of the fight, there are a lot of reasons for this: Need a high hyper level for the final phase to end it before washing machine starts again. To build hypers you need to pointblank, which is only really possible on the fourth attack. The hard attacks are the first two and you can't end the first phase before you have to redo the first two attacks again anyway. Not shooting makes you redo the third and fourth attacks but those are fairly easy anyway. The fireballs on the second pattern are only visible if you don't shoot. It's easier to dodge in general because of better bullet visibility. Phase 1 Attack 1 - Static but with random boss movement. Easily the hardest attack in the fight that is not washing machine. It's very fast and hard to react to. You can somewhat learn it after playing it a lot but it still takes a bit of luck I'd say. Want to stay near the big red bullets and cross over to the left whenever possible. Usually the boss movement will give you an opening. Attack 2 - Fireballs thrown into random directions. When the fireballs touch the walls they explode into sets of bullets. Watch the fireballs and dodge accordingly. The fireballs themselves can't hurt you but you can only see them if you stop shooting, since your own bullets cover them up completely. This attack can be particularly nasty if you get unlucky. Attack 3 - Static with some slight variation on where it starts in the pattern and how it overlaps. Not too bad after you learn how to read it. Want to stay a bit to the left of the middle. Some waves will wall you extremely quickly if you don't move out immediately, recognizing when this is about to happen is key. Attack 4: Where the red and blue lines first spawn is random. The easiest attack probably. Just follow along with the flow to the right and then alternate between dodging blue and red. You can pointblank the entirely of the attack here, which is the key to doing damage as well as charging your hyper for the final. Phase 2: Final phase alternates between two attacks, washing machine and fugusashi. It starts with a short washing machine, then fugusashi and after a bit it will switch back to a long washing machine, then fugusashi again etc. Washing machine is nigh undodgeable, so you want to end the final phase before the washing machine starts up again. For this you need to bring a level 6 hyper into the final. Fugusashi is static with random boss movement again I think. It's a lot more dogeable and not that bad after you get used to it. It can get hell if the boss moves very low on the screen though. At the start you can pointblank on the right of the boss. The red bullets are static, the blue bullets and the boss movement is random. You can skip most of the first washing machine with the hyper activation, but you still need to dodge for about a second or two (or use an autobomb). Look at Hibachi's movement to decide on which side of the screen you're going to dodge. Usually you can safety sit in the bottom right for a second or two if you're lucky. It's possible to bring a level 7 hyper into the final but it didn't seem worth the extra rank increase. The boss dies at around the same time with a level 6 and level 7 hyper. Rank 10 is about as low as I could manage to get the rank in a real run without outright doing TAS crap. Type A has the fastest speed which helps a lot for attack 1, 3 and the final. Omake: / 1477777529578700806 Apparently the RNG in this fight doesn't change until you press the shot or laser button. You can kinda cheeze the entire first cycle like this with seeded RNG on a savestate. I made sure to laser her at the start for a bit to make sure I got a random seed as to make this as legit as possible. Very fun TLB, I think it's easily one of the best TLB's Cave ever made. Also shoutouts to Sairyou for being the first to finally beat Inbachi: • 【Training mode/default setting】怒首領蜂最大... 00:00 - Intro 00:45 - Boss ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twitter: / jaimersstg Twitch: / jaimersstg
