NOTE: To fight the Mid-Boss you must not lose any round and have 5 Super Move or 5 Custom Combo finishers. The Mid-Boss will challenge you after these requirements are met. He trained Chun-Li in her youth as he was a good friend of her father's. Gen also owned a restaurant named Genhanten in Sendai, Japan. It was at his restaurant where he met Ryu for the first time. He entered the World Warrior tournament to face worthy opponents and was defeated by Ryu. After some time he found out that he is suffering from leukemia and did not have much time to live. However, he did not blame the loss in the tournament on his disease. At first, Gen decided to give up on fighting and continue to manage his restaurant but old enemies sent assassins that tried to kill him and his family multiple times. These assassination acts led to the decision to continue fighting.
