This is a playthrough using Leon Barazock in the Arcade version of Fighters' Impact. Read on below for more information... Barazock is the final boss, and he is an unplayable character in this version/revision of the game. (unconfirmed) ===== ABOUT BARAZOCK ===== He is a blind fighter after having his eyesight taken by Bernhard. Since then he has developed a hatred for all martial artists, going as far as kidnapping and murdering their loved ones. His fighting style allows him to copy his opponent's moves as he gets hit by them. In actual gameplay, he can actually copy his opponent's moves (only specific ones) as he gets hit by them, resulting in him being able to perform the move he just "stole". You will know this because there is the text "STOLE X" (X being a number) that appears under his lifebar when it's happened. Unfortunately it seems that only the CPU-controlled version of him can do this. His fighting style is Synthetic, and he has no sub-styles. ===== ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ===== ---- Despite being an unplayable character, he has an alternative costume. ---- He is somewhat similar in design concept to Zato-1 from Guilty Gear. This is more apparent in his portrait image in the upgraded Arcade and PS1 versions of the game. ---- He is named after Japan's first gay lifestyle magazine, Barazoku. ===== IMPOSSIBLE UNLOCKING ===== The strange thing is that in this revision of the game, all of the bosses can be unofficially unlocked - you can only do this by beating single-player mode with a boss character to unlock the boss you were playing as. So for example if you wanted to unlock Faraha, you have to beat the game using Faraha. Only Dr. WIZ cannot be unlocked. This is normally impossible to do because all of the bosses are non-selectable characters, so external methods are needed to achieve this. It is interesting on why this feature is in the game. It should be noted that when the bosses are unofficially unlocked, they have no icon nor portrait image on the character select screen. They don't have any icon images on the rankings screens either. ===== ABOUT FIGHTERS' IMPACT ===== Fighter's Impact is a slow-paced technical fighting game. It's gameplay is focused on tactics, making you think about your next move, stringing your own combos together and blocking correctly. On the lifebar, under the character's name, there is a light-up counter that lights up and extends the higher you string moves together. For most of the regular characters you get to choose between 3 fighting styles/modes for them, complete with a different costume for each style. Despite some martial art styles being shared (such as Karate), there are some minor differences between the different characters using the same fighting style. The bosses do not have any sub styles to choose from, instead they are all mostly unique in their fighting styles. The game features an atmospheric relaxing soundtrack, which usually closely matches the ambiance of the stage you're on. ===== PLAYSTATION 1 VS. ===== It should be noted that the game Vs. on the PS1 is a localized US/EUR version of the PS1 Japanese-only game Fighters' Impact, which was done by THQ to appeal to the Western audience/tastes. Therefore the game is built on the Fighters' Impact engine. It is quite a drastic change because it is unrecognizable from the original Japanese game, as all the characters and aesthetics are different, as well as the soundtrack and some of the gameplay mechanics.
