PC Engine CD : Monster Maker - Yami no Ryuukishi (JPN)

Monster Maker - Yami no Ryuukishi (モンスターメーカー 闇の竜騎士) is an RPG that developed by NEC Avenue & Office K and published by NEC Avenue back in 1994, exclusively for the PC Engine CD home console system and the Japanese market. The player takes control of Raia, a young black-haired orphan girl with short pointy ears and strange powers, who finds out that she belongs to the race of half-elves. Blamed for attacks on her village, she is expelled from her homeland and sets off on a journey to find out the truth about her origins. Monster Maker follows a traditional RPG structure with multi-scale aerial maps and turn-based combat viewed from first-person perspective. Magic can be bought in shops, though some characters come with pre-learned spells. Later in the game the player gains the ability to communicate with monsters and summon them during battles. All and all, it's a fairly simple RPG with an excellent OST and basic gameplay mechanics. It's not an import friendly game.
