MY THOUGHTS BELOW: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Story 8/10 : While this game was short, it still packed a good story inside of it. You play as a child looking through her abusive house while her older self narrates certain memories. You get to see the trash filled house, the ways of escape this little girl used, and the cruel actions of her addiction fueled father, all in under an hour. Yes, the story is short, but it brings problems and conflict up that makes the player feel immersed in this world. My only issue is how easy it is to miss/pass key story points that give you more insight into this little girls world. Maybe a counter in the top corner or even some whispering to give the player a hint that they are around something important would be a good improvement, I missed some things and it made me feel like I didn't look very closely when I did. Otherwise, an enjoyable experience! Audio 7/10 : The background music and the sound effects in this game were very solid. A sad piano track follows you around and makes you feel a difficult sense of calm mixed with a sadness you can't place. There is some voice acting in this game and it is good. There are a couple lines that sounded a bit strange, almost like they had been spliced together, but aside from minor details the actor did a pretty good job! Graphics 8/10 : Graphics aren't everything in a game. This games graphics are by no means the best, they are detailed in places and placement of objects, but it isn't incredibly high definition or breathtakingly beautiful. Still, the graphics in this game added to the story. All of the elements and objects used in the scenery are there for a reason, even the smallest cigarette butt can tell a story. It might not be the prettiest, but it certainly did its job. Controls 8/10 : Very basic walking sim with a fancy reticle. Nothing too crazy here but nothing that takes away from the story. TL;DR This game is incredibly short but it tells a story. Each object placed throughout the world is there for a reason, you just have to be extra observant to find out what those reasons are. Some of the story pieces/narration pieces are incredibly easy to miss however and that did bum me out at the end, but take your time with this game and look around intently and you'll find everything you're looking for! The graphics are simple but they are just a placeholder for a deeper message about a girl and her broken past. Overall this game was a pleasant experience to walk through. Thought provoking? Yes. Life changing? Not quite. But all the same, it told a story and delivered it very well. Should you get this game? : Yeah! Give it a gander and walk around to try and find everything, I'm sure you'll find more than I did. Do I recommend this game? : Yes. Nothing really to lose with this experience. Short, cheap, and an interesting story. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HEY BOYS AND GIRLS.
