Stream: Garden Gnome Carnage, Hyper Princess Pitch, etc.
I continue exploring Daniel Remar and Ludosity's back catalogue with these Christmas-destroying action games. -Starting with 2007's Garden Gnome Carnage, I have a few games while wrangling the unique "house-on-wheels plus bungee-cord-garden-gnome" control scheme, it's fun! -I then briefly show off 2009's single-screen RTS Garden Gnome Tactics, but can't play it very well as it's intended as a two-player experience. -Then it's Bear Miner, from the 2008 game jam event No More Sweden: this one is very silly and cool, with a bouncy grapple mechanic and a cheesy vocal song. -Space Hunk from Mojam 2013 is next, as a further exploration of the bungee-cord mechanic, again in a two-player game. (There's supposed to be a solo mode but I couldn't get it to work.) -Finally I do two runs of 2011's Hyper Princess Pitch. This top-down shooter is very accomplished and satisfying, with all the cheesy charm I've come to expect after the last four games. I tried to find some secrets as I played through, but there's still a lot more under the surface. I also died at the final boss on my second run, so didn't see the best ending. All the games I played today can be found on Remar's website, either on this page or within the various Scrap Packs: His site also contains an official walkthrough and guide to a lot of the secrets in HPP: Broadcasted live on Twitch -- Watch live at / miloscatter
