Lord of Apocalypse - Perfect Blocking with Mace weapon type

It seems that all classes have a Perfect Block / parry, except maybe the Spear Rifle. That one just seems to have a slicker dodge with perhaps more invincibility frames. Anyway.. the Perfect Blocking mechanism is initiated by pressing the defense/block/roll/dodge input (X) button just before a physical attack is about to connect with you, no matter which angle it comes in towards you. If timed correctly, the incoming attack will be parried and and there will be a yellow impact effect rather than the regular blue impact effect that you get with regular blocks. Perfect Blocking seems to leave you with a frame advantage and doesn't leave you with any of the penalties that regular blocking might, i.e. Pulse drain. Some enemies - such as trolls - will actually be caught in a deflected stun animation when you Perfect Block their attacks, leaving you with plenty of time to retaliate. The Twin Blade - along with the Heavy Sword - seems to be one of the few weapon types that has a counter follow-up. You perform it by pressing X again, after a successful Perfect Block. It knocks down most foes and seems pretty powerful.
