Final Fight Revenge (Saturn) Playthrough - NintendoComplete
A playthrough of Capcom's 2000 Sega Saturn 3D arcade fighter, Final Fight Revenge. This video shows two different playthroughs, both at the default difficult level. The first is with Cody, and the second (beginning at 8:32) is with Haggar. Final Fight Revenge is one of only two 3D Final Fight games to ever be released (the second was Final Fight Streetwise on PS2/Xbox), and having the most limited home-release of any of the series' titles, is the one that probably receives the least amount of recognition. It was a Japanese-exclusive Saturn title (despite being developed by Capcom's US development team), and it was Capcom's last game to be put out on the Saturn platform in any region. It was ported from the STV (Saturn-based) arcade hardware, and it required the 4 meg RAM expansion cart to play. The 3D is fairly nice looking for the Saturn, though not quite what you'd expect of a title making use of all of that extra memory. The characters all fairly represent their 2D sprite counterparts, though, and feature some of the most ridiculous movesets imaginable - I'm a big fan of Haggar's piledriver blasting his opponent through the earth before launching them into space. It all feels quite a bit like Street Fighter, but with an awkward side-step move stuck in to make it "3D." The game's fighting system is a bit simple, though - if this has been released in 1995, it'd be a perfectly good, competitive fighter. By the time 2000 came around, though, the combo system was feeling a bit old and shallow. One really nice thing about this title is that if the bios menu is set to English, the entire game will play in English. Pretty convenient, for sure, for those that can't read mystery Japanese runes. ____ No cheats were used during the recording of this video.
