[Speedrun] Monster Rancher Battle Card GB - any% in 2:18:40

You would think that as a fan of Monster Rancher and card games that I would have done something with this earlier, but my Puzzle League exploits had left me with little time to even play it casually. It wasn't until a speedrun was submitted to the leaderboard that I decided to take a look at what this game is all about. What I found out was that the submitted run was not a valid run because it did not finish the game so I took it upon myself to figure out what was a proper speedrun of this game. I'm just talking the normal ending, by the way, not the ending you get by collecting all of the cards. I believe that requires one New Game+ playthrough. In the meantime, another person picked up the game and did a full any% run in over six hours. That person did not know that you could turn off the battle animations, among a few other things. I had done a semi-casual playthrough that was at the final boss in just over three hours so I knew that I could do a semi-proper speedrun. This is what I came up with. I was hoping to finish in under three hours. I was not quite expecting this. It's strange. This is a game that encourages you to battle, yet the winning move in this speedrun is to battle as little as possible. The only battle that I went out of my way to actively engage in was for the Skates and you don't need me to explain why those Skates were important. I think sub-2:00 can and should be a thing soon.
