Metal Detecting takes centre stage in a brand-new television programme being broadcast on ITV4 at 9pm on Tuesday 8th December. Produced by the team behind Shed & Buried and Find It Fix It Flog It, Henry Cole's Great British Treasure Hunt challenges five teams of passionate metal detectorists to uncover the buried history in the grounds of a stately home, but there's a catch. They only have 48 hours to complete the task. Whichever team finds the most valuable artefacts wins the day, although there will also be an award for the most historically significant find.
