Unfortunately, I found the game lacked much in the way of charm, and the gameplay turned out to be quite monotonous, not to mention difficult. I guess the game provided a level of inspiration for future titles, and the foreground melee idea was pretty neat, but I have to confess I just didn't like it very much.
