[TAS] Top Gun: Fire at Will! (PS1) - Any% in 1:53:02
My apologies for the poor video quality. TIMING: Timer starts when pressing "Start game"; ends right after shooting down Nomad. TIMELINE Miramar 1 - 01:27 Miramar 6 - 11:23 Cuba 1 - 12:23 Cuba 7 - 43:36 Korea 1 - 47:31 Korea 10 - 1:18:46 Libya 1 - 1:22:44 Libya 8 - 1:51:46 NON TAS WORLD RECORD As far as I know, there's not an "official" normal speedrun of the game yet. SHORT REVIEW If you want a combat flight simulator where your missiles never hit the target and the field of view doesn't make any sense, this is the game you're looking for. Graphics are OK for the time (1996), and 3D models are acceptable. The soundtrack is good, but repetitive. I ran out of good things to say about this game... Gameplay is confusing to say the least. Players need time to get used to UI and game mechanics. There's no way to know if enemy planes are flying above or below you: you can understand it only through trial and error. Missiles often miss the enemy planes 50% of the time, for no apparent reason: the enemies don't even dodge'em or use flares, they just...miss. Boss fights are tough, but for the wrong reasons (aka: poor controls and confusing user interface/game view) and frustrating at times. Overall score: 5.5/10 - Don't play this game unless you're just curious.
