In principle the co-op works and is absolutely unique as one player is in control of the angle and direction of the sun while the other must struggle to stay in the shadows created by the other. In execution, it can be a bit of a struggle for a variety of reasons. Also, while the story driving it all is pretty cool it's also a bit long-winded and really breaks up the action, so people who are just looking to play will likely find that aggravating
