NNID: MetalSmasher86 Shin'en Games has just released a sequel to the sleeper WiiWare hit FAST Racing League! I never got that game, but I'm rectifying that mistake now by getting this! As a longtime F-Zero fan, this is the racing game I've been craving since F-Zero GX on the Gamecube! This game also borrows a gameplay element from Ikaruga with the polarity system. In Ikaruga, you used it to change the color of your ship to absorb enemy bullets of the same color, but in this game, you use it to hit different-colored boost strips on the track. If your car is the opposite color as the strip, it slows you down, but if it's the same color as the strip, full speed ahead, baby! You can clearly see some of the tracks in this game could have been based on the worlds of F-Zero. For example, Mueller Pacific = Big Blue, Chuoku City = Mute City, Hibashira Speedway = Fire Field, Storm Coast = Lightning, etc. Also introduced in this game is a new "Hero Mode", which further replicates the F-Zero playstyle with your boost meter doubling as a life meter. That doesn't become available until much later, though. In the first cup, the Cobalt Cup, we travel through Scorpio Circuit, the snowy Alpine Trust, the waters of Mueller Pacific, and the vibrant Chuoku City (home of one of my favorite tracks in the game!). ======================= Subscribe for more content!
