Sorry for the boring video, I just wanted to show that you could use shaders on old games like Heavy Gear 2, with the help of a wrapper like Dgvoodoo 2. First, follow the guide on this video: • Heavy Gear II ► 1999 Mech Gameplay on Windows -Make note that with DgVoodoo 2 you can enter the graphics menu just fine. You also shouldn't have to use compatibility settings for anything for this to work. Second download Dgvoodoo 2's latest version: Follow the basic steps, open the config program. In General tab, set your graphics card and then scaling mode to stretched but keep aspect ratio. In the DX tab, set your Vram to highest setting, screen resolution, anisotropic filtering to 16x, MSAA to 8, Bilinear Blit Stretch, Force Vsync, and apply Phong Shading. Third, Download latest Reshade. Start the program, point to Heavy Gear 2's executable, choose the DirectX 10+ option. Download the extra shaders. You're almost there! Finally, you can hit Shift+F2 in game to mess with settings. You'll have to be in a mission to use the mouse. You can change the hotkeys to whatever you like. I have my own current preset: Feel free to provide a better preset and perhaps tweaked settings. I may have missed something here or there that could be improved.
