The Anthem of the Warsaw Pact, also known as the March of the Warsaw Pact and the Song of the United Armies (Russian: Песня объединённых армий) is an international marching anthem and commemoration song written by Soviet composer B. Alexandrov, with lyrics by Lev Oshanin. They state that together, the workers of the world are ready to repel any attack by foreign interlopers such as NATO. The song also invokes other Soviet allies, such as the People's Republic of China, while offering a strong condemnation of the nuclear brinkmanship politics that dominated the early cold war. It portrays the reactionary capitalists of the United States as willing to destroy the entire world just for a chance at stopping the socialist experiment.
