I don't think this is historically accurate. A special thanks goes to Konis for some voice acting. It is based on the Japanese invasions of Korea in the late 16th century. The game shares some superficial similarities with WarCraft: Orcs & Humans, but uses a different building and resource system. The game features both land and naval combat. Troops have to be equipped with weapons, spells, and other equipment on an individual basis, allowing for some customisation. War Diary has a singleplayer campaign for the Koreans. The Japanese are only seen as antagonists during the campaign, whereas the Ming Chinese are allies. The Japanese faction is almost identical to the Koreans, but does possess firearms. The game was developed by Trigger Soft Corporation and HQ Team. Trigger Soft would later release a direct sequel (충무공전 II: 난세 영웅전), whereas HQ Team would make its own game based on the Japanese invasion titled Seven Years War (임진록).
