Band of Brothers trench walkthrough at D-Day site Brécourt Manor in Normandy

BAND OF BROTHERS TRENCH WALKTHROUGH Enjoy a walkthrough of the trench system at Brécourt Manor – the site of four 105mm guns assaulted by Dick Winters and his 101st Airborne #bandofbrothers on D-Day. On the ground the site is a very different picture to that which has been portrayed on the big screen – the trenches aren’t zigzagged at all! We enjoyed an interesting day filming this famous battleground with our friend and Brécourt owner Monsieur de Vallavieille, recalling the amazing history behind the site and his family’s first-hand involvement. It was his father, Michel, who was mistakenly shot by US soldiers and was evacuated to Britain for treatment only to later return and establish the Utah Beach museum and 101st Airborne Memorial nearby. Although overgrown now, our video was taken at the location of between guns one and two. The material inside the trench was left there following an archaeological investigation and designed to prevent further damage to this historic location. The finds from the excavation work are to be displayed at the Utah Beach Museum. 👍 FOLLOW @normandybunkers FOR MORE AMAZING VIDEOS 👍 💥 www.normandybunkers.com 💥 #normandybunkers #dday #dday80 #normandy #6june #bunkers #atlantikwall #utah #utahbeach #omahabeach #goldbeach #junobeach #swordbeach #ww2 #sww #france #beaches #ddaylandings #tank #sea #landings #brecourtmanor #brecourt #101stairborne #bandofbrothers #trench #utahbeachmuseum
