Swords and Sandals 5 Redux: Gladiator Sprint

A demonstration of the Gladiator Sprint mode in the new Swords and Sandals 5 Redux: Grail of Antares! Overall this was a frustrating experience, as it was difficult for me to reach even round 4 of the Sprint, there being a good number of factors: You only get one stat point each round. That itself is insufficient to fund any sort of balance among your stats, as you are forced to allocate on skills that have no points in, as all classes either start off with only 5 attack or 5 defence or none at all. Secondly, only one race is relevant in this mode, which is Gunterian, as they give a 5% health bonus, while all the other races give dungeon-based bonuses or essence-related bonuses. The Rogue and Priest classes are obsolete as their class bonuses do not have any use in the arena. Another issue is that your weapon and armour are not sufficient to face opponents after round 2, as you are stuck with either a tier 2 weapon or a couple pieces of tier 1 armour, whereas the enemy may have a tier 2 or 3 weapon/armour. There are also times where the enemy has unusual high stats, especially where they can do equal damage with both melee and magic. One issue is that you are stuck with swords, whereas the opponent may get a polearm (which has more range) or even a bow, where firing only two shots can kill you. There doesn't seem to be a use for potions either, because you would not allocate any points to vitality, and often times you can be killed in two, if not three hits after losing your armour. In my opinion, what could be done to circumvent the quick deaths is to give for two or three stat points instead of one as to level up secondary stats such as stamina and vitality, as well as provide three armour pieces instead of two as to stay on par with the enemy's equipment. In the video you can see the opponent often wears tier 2 or 3 armour after the first round. Another thing is that you should be at full health in the next round, as you are forced to use at least one turn to heal back some health. There are also a couple bugs where sometimes you are only given one piece of armour, you don't get the abilities from your class. This was recorded on version 1.0.6. on Android.
