Can you Beat Shadow Tower Abyss using only Guns?

Is it possible to ignore all melee and magic.. and beat the whole game using nothing but firearms? Shadow Tower is similar to King's Field.. with a much heavier combat focus, and some unique mechanics, such as the durability system which is integral to the experience. The games have a more experimental feel, with unique and often bizarre designs in both the enemies and locales.
